I wouldn't call them shy, but then again, I wouldn't say they are outgoing either, haven't lost any yet, even the mutants have survived. And the asfraci haven't been aggressive with any of the other cichlids, although they can get snippy with each other.
They have been in a cichlid community the last 6 months with 4 Acarichthys heckelli, 5 Guianacara owruwefi, a half dozen Cryptoheros nanoluteus, and an errant beani from the last spawn.
The 150 gal had previouslybeani my beani spawning tank, and 1 fry survived and has grown to about 2.5-3", you can see it behind the asfraci in the pic in the post above.
The pic below is about 2 months old.
