These pics will show what I am talking about. The first 2 pics are from about 6 months ago when I had black sand. Notice the coloration.

The 3rd pic is the current setup. I am using off white sand. His pattern stays darker most of the time but in this pic he shows the normal pattern. The 3rd pic was only taken a month or two ago.

There is no point trying to explain the stable/unstable part to people. IMO it's their surroundings that make them stable/unstable. Most think it's going to stay unstable and kudos to them for thinking that. Means more possibilities I will get one:D.

$125 is a good price. Don't take less then $65 from a LFS.

I also believe the surroundings can do that to fish. This fish had the normal pattern with the black sand but ever since I put in the light sand it usually kept the "unstable" pattern.

Eric. True test of stableness for a particular tiger in a particular tank set up..... can take months or years.

Keep your tank set up with light sand.... See if that tiger is still stable after 6 months. I have changed backgrounds from black to blue, tigers all went stable straightaway. But 6 months later, the tigers got used to this change and went back to being unstable. So I changed to blackbacjground.... And Exactly same process happened.
Also same happened with substrate changes....

Therefore...Background and substrate don't really affect stability in the Long-term.....

So now... I always make sure I have 7 or more tigers in tank, plus excellent water/ filtration + TIME...... This helps IMO, to keep indo dats stable. (oh , and dim/subdued lights helps)

Indos in particular have a habit of going unstable when ever they want...

depending on the market in your area, up to $130. ask that +obo and you can't go wrong. i'd say btwn $130 and $85. he looks pretty good when stable.
