Hi everyone,
some of you will have seen my threads or posts about this 'Big tank'. I've been waiting and waiting for this moment for a long time and finally my last GCSE exam is tomorrow, the 14th.

After I get home, I'm going straight into my shed and analysing the wood in there to guage whether I need to buy more or I've got what I need.

I'll warn everybody now, it'll be a slow build as I'll be working a minimum of
4/7 days a week, whilst simultaneously trying to get my business up and running. I also want to enjoy myself after 2 years of non-stop work haha.
During the next 12 weeks, ill be doing all.of this whilst building my tank.

Either tomorrow night or Saturday night, I will draw up the final plans for the tank and post up!
The stand and hood are going to be DIY and the glass will be purchased. the stand is primarily brick with a wooden case for esthetic reasons.

Hi everyone, so I looked in my shed and realised I have strong support wood but no main planks. So hopefully next week I'll be going to a diy shop for the wood and planks! not much of an update but it is what it is haha

ok, so calculating the price for the blocks to build my stand with, its coming to about £148.99. imo, I don't wanna spend that on unattractive bricks, so I'm curious to know, could I build this tank using timber only (with brackets of course)
The tank volume is 1134L
so id say the stand needs to support 1400-1500kg of weight

well ideally, id like the stand to be 100cm high. The only thing that needs to go under is the 2 big pond filters

If your covering the stand it mite work out cheeper to build stand in blockwork rather than bricks , and there bigger so less to lay in first place , worth pricing up at builders merchants im up north so not much help finding them cheeper for you unless to trek up ere :D
