Wards Canada supplies wild captured specimens, as would wards USA. However if I can get some time off work to go specimen collecting I'm more than game for collecting just 1 for myself. they are difficult to find in my province as most rivers are extremely muddy with a practical visibility of less than 6", this is compounded by the fact that adult and juvenile specimens are mostly nocturnal in nature. I have also procured a minnow trap with larger openings which would be set up overnight in waters believed to contain necturus. but in reality until I have this tank cycled my biggest challenge is just completing the build. If anyone at all knows of a breeder or supplier (in Canada) that can produce captive born offspring I would be very pleased even as much as to offer a prize for such knowledge. I do not think I can import Necturus from the good old USA to Canada. Correct me if I am wrong.
 
Nice. These are a pretty cool species to keep and I think that a nice aquarium design for them would make for a great display tank. Good luck with it and keep us posted.
 
Thanks, have you seen a place in the US that offers captive bred? I found them on wards but apparently they are only in stock december through april yet it says they can ship immeaditaly, yet they ship standard.
 
I know a local guy that breeds them. I might be able to get you some. PM me if you are interested.
