i'm really interested in this design it looks great i just received three redtail catfish and a tank this size would be a good starting tank

Amazing. I'm probably going to use the styrafoam + cement method.
 
Finally finished reading thread. Thanks Arl you have about doubled what I know about DIY tanks. You have also solved the lining problem I have. I was not a big fan of fiberglass or the various paints. ABS solves that.

Now I just have to convince my wife to make that 12 foot tank in basement.

I'll be getting a 950 gallon tank by end of the year, and will use the UB-40 with a 12000 liter pump. Could be an idea for you.
