He used Pond Armor originally which is the epoxy. Pond Coat is the Permadri liquid rubber product that is the US version of Liquid Rubber Zavlar.
TheFishGuy had tons of trouble with Pond Armor when he expanded his big tank. Sounds like the same type of problem. Epoxy is not designed to flex at all.
Pond Coat liquid rubber has 850% elongation capability which means it is gong to stretch to 850% of it's original dimension before it is compromised. That basically means you can take a sledge hammer to the structure, but the pond coat is going to stay strong.'
