Rock for some reason I was under the impression that you were a pretty avid gearhead and did this kind of stuff regularly.I remember seeing mention of your Vega in past postings.I haven't tinkered in 10 years. But I have a 72 Vega with a SBC. I blew it up and haven't done anything with it since. I haven't had money and I stopped hanging out with my car friends so it's been rotting away at my dads this whole time

Well I have projects I mess with here and there. Swapped out the radiator in my Firebird, tune ups on my Camaro, suspension on my Jeep before I sold it, it's just not like before when I lived and breathed it. Funny my friend just recently got his Nova running and he's been trying to get me fired up again. Everything has gotten so much more expensive, it's hard getting motivated.
Having a scrambler 1000 would be awesome.... wondering how a turbo kit would do on one of those...
Heck small blocks chevy are a dime a dozen here. You can get a 350 4 bolt main for 2 cases of beer 3 if it turns over with a breaker bar

I have a buddy with a 454 .030 over pushing 550 on the street... oh did I mention it's in a 94 stepside gmc.
Yeah, they're cheap here too. I wanted to go fast so I bought some exotic cylinder heads and big tube headers so throwing a junkyard motor together wouldn't work out too well.
Personally I would look for a low mile 5.3 vortec and put the vette heads on it. Then when all else fails for power just add a nice twin turbo
Yup. I have a little skittle (srt4 neon) I've been messing with, but nothing crazy yet, just starting to make enough power to ruin the clutch and factory turbo.
You do all the work to that diesel yourself?
I sometimes get stuck having to work on stuff that people have modified themselves and it can get pretty ugly.
Ya man everything but doing the top end when I lifted the heads we where stupid busy at work and I did not have time. Well lesson learned ford+programmer= headgaskets blown. but now we have arp head studs now the next thing to go will be the tranny which will end up being a complete build. Hardened input and output shafts Suncoast rebuild kit, shift kit, better shift solenoids, bd torque converter with a massive Trans cooler to top it off.
That truck on the 160hp tune is nuts and with also have the hot unlock which gives us the 310 tune which will not be touched until we have a set of phat shafts turbos 200hp injectors and a huge lift pump.
That is another 15 grand away tho

Ya you start looking at stuff people have modified and you just gotta think "what was going threw your head when you did that"
What all do you have done to your srt4?
I have seen a few srt4 that where done very well but in my opinion there is no replacement for displacement
