Yes, I live in Florida but it gets cold during winter anyways so I will have to get a heater.
I have a friend that I helped build a solar heater to keep his pond from freezing. Last winter here in Michigan it kept the water just above freezing. I don't know how the fish faired. Ive had to many issues this year to really be in contact with him other then the occasional text. But he had native species so I assume they were fine since the water never froze.
I’m making a homemade filter.
I will use shade cloth as mechanical and a moving bed filter for biological and some extras that I’m thinking of using.
