I use pot scrubbers and bio balls with top layer sponges. But I just got some yellow perch today and I like them a lot already. Unfortunately I've never caught a crappie but I'm still working on it lol.
I just caught my first crappie on Thursday and fell in love. They're awesome looking little buggers. Caught a perch yesterday too and wanted to bring it home but didn't have a bucket. Went back today and found a container in my trunk crammed in a corner. I was so upset but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
I went and caught 5 perch today but I forgot my aerator at home so we rushed home and put them in the new tank, it was a lot shorter trip than I planned on lol. But hopefully tomorrow we'll go out and find some crappie.
I don't even know where to go to catch small crappie and perch. I need to find some spots. Good luck on your crappie hunt though. By the way what do you mean by pot scrubbers?

I think I'm gonna go with bio balls, pot scrubbers and maybe polishing pads since I want real crystal clear water. Anyone have a brand of bio balls to recommend?
