I posted a thread before asking some questions about this tank and now it's finally being set up. First things first it's gotta get cleaned since it's used. It's going to be in my living room so I want it nice and crystal clear. Anyone have advice for cleaning the glass. I'm guessing the stains are just from water being inside. I have pics below and I'm not really trying to use any chemicals or anything where I'm gonna have to rinse the tank out because I don't really have space or help to move the tank. Once it's all clean, gravel, water, and decorations will be placed inside, then I'm setting up the filter and letting it run while I'm on vacation next week. I'm stoked to have this tank since it's the biggest I've ever done and also will be the first tank I set up a post to follow. I agree with white vinegar and water but use a razor blade from a utility knife. It will not scratch the glass and it removes everything possible. Water stains from salt water will just flake off in powder. Razor blades will not scratch it either because it is lower on the moh's hardness scale (I believe don't quote me).
 
Any specific ratio? One part water to one part vinegar, two water to one vinegar? And if I wash it, rinse it, and then shop vac the water out will it be fine? Thanks for the compliment by the way
 
Used a 1:1 ratio. Worked a little. Think I might need a few more scrubs and definitely to hit it with a razor blade. Put the tank back up on the stand and if it gets to be too much work to get stains out I'm just gonna leave it the way it is unless it will be harmful to fish.

I just ended up not even caring about the stains anymore. I put the substrate in and filled it about a quarter of the way. Water was really foggy last night but cleared up throughout the day. I'm gonna finish filling it tonight and set the filter up. Pics will be posted later
