I need a couple bottom feeders for my 55, any suggestions? I love your tank, what kind of plants/moss/grass do you have in there. I hope the algae I have growing in mine turns out to look like yours. Looks amazing!
 
Well the white suckers are good till they get to about 6-8 inches, he cleans like you wouldnt believe and leaves the plants alone, but they get very huge so he is going into my pond soon. I love the minnows i dont feed them they just pick off scrap bits of worm and food that the other fish havent eaten. they also make good feeders aswell.
 
any kind of minnow really, Brassy, fathead both good kinds, they will eat smaller particles basically anything in the tank they can eat they will try. the bigger minnow looking fish in the tank are shiners, they eat larger foods
 
Any experience with eastern mud minnows? I'm looking into them, however their recommended ph range is lower than my tank set up. Should I be concerned about that as much with natives?

Well if you are getting the native fish from local areas the ph out of the tap should be just fine. I've never liked adjusting PH cause i feel it can do more harm then good
