so i just set up a 75 in my basement and am waiting for it to cycle. I have pool filter sand and a filter running on it right now, so it should be good to go in a few weeks. I was thinking about buying a group of young trimacs, and waiting till a pair formed, but i don't know if a 75 will be big enough for a pair. What pair of cichlids would you breed in a 75? (PS- i don't want anything thats really ordinary like ocnvicts)

75 would be tight for a pair of Trimacs; The male would probably end up killing the female.

If it were me, I'd go for something like a pair of lyonsi, or maybe tetracanthus. Or, if you don't mind something slightly smaller, go with a pair of sajica.

all good suggestions. I liked the lysoni's a lot and i know a pretty good source to get them. I also was thinking about green terrors today.

I was also going to suggest this, but I thought they may be too common for your liking (as you said you didn't want anything too ordinary). Another great choice though.

A 75 would be okay for a breeding pair of Trimacs.
