to me solid color backgrounds look too lack luster .... almost like having a tank with a bare glass bottom ...

If that was mine - I would cut all the blue out of the background sort of like this photo ... notice the wires, heater, and stuff ...
About the bamboo, I have used these in 2 aquariums. They have never rotted.. people tell me all the time to get that bamboo out of there its going to rot.. but its never happened. It grows slower than if it were out of water but I made those chutes in the aquarium off of the biggest one in there.. i just keep cutting it and it grows leaves and roots. I dunno why it would rot anyways since the areas bamboo grows can be flooded over the bamboo pretty frequently. I suppose if there is enough light its no problem.Weylin;1382221; said:
