75 gal - oscar, jd, needlefish

yea, i understood which species he was referring to. they're very timid and kind of puny. i don't think they can hang with oscars. with my 2 floridas, i have to take special care to ensure that they get food. my arowana and oscars are pigs, while the 2 floridas are a bit laid back and passive. the needles, that he's referring to, would not survive in my tank.

Is this fish going in your tank, or his? The petsmart "needle" which I assume he is referring to is nowhere near that of a florida gar, or any true gar at that.

Oscars are very curious fish, and I don't see it working with a rocket at all. They are an upper level swimmer that are very suseptable to attacks from more aggressive type fish. As far as the jd, it could be a problem as well, but probably not as it would with the oscar. Would be a better bet trying that, depending on the size of both fish..

i have a needlefish and he stays at the very top of the tank and doesnt bother any of my fish. needlefish r very fast and can jump out of the smallest opening. if u do get one make sure u put plants (real or fake) in the coners of the tank. needlefish r very jumpy. sometimes when i turn the lights on he swims right into the side. this will eventually mess up his nose a little. but its ok.
