75 Gallon Buildin Wall Thread

Looks really good. I've been thinking of putting a tank in a wall like this also. I have one concern though.

Your stand looks very strong but, the front few inches of the tank aren't supported by it. It looks like the front is supported by the single 2X4 and the rest is supported by the stand. Is your stand connected to the wall somehow, so that the strength of your stand supports the front of the tank?

That concerned me alittle until i realized its all of 3" of the tank on the 2x4 in the front rest is on the tank stand itself. My dad's friends who is a contractor said its fine. Thanks for the concern thou.

looks nice, I might have painted the back mostly because you can see the other tanks behind it. Unless you want to be able to.

Getting a black background to hide that and other tank is going to be moved once we finish the tile in the finished part of our basement

looks cool, but i would move the white framing in a little on all sides so you didn't get any light in from the sides, and to cover the black plastic frame of the tank, would make it look more like its built into the wall instead of just a window in the wall.

I gonna put, a smaller peice of trim in the gap will hide all the black trim and light from the sides.
