75 gallon exodon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Can I see another pic of the tank? I wanna see how it is once it is completely finished. :newbie:
I probably won’t be changing the tank too much just more filtration and possibly some catfish or a nice L pleco. I’m not a big fan of substrate or decorations

Nice! Rare to see someone that actually gets the exodons.

I am not sure how accurate it is but have seen previously that decor helps the weaker exodons hide from persecution. Although this was a while ago.

I’ve seen a decent amount of exodons in my area lately which is weird because before I would never see them??‍♂️ I agree with twentyleagues twentyleagues you might not be able to get a lot of catfish. If you want to get some you’ll have to have a lot of cover and hiding spots. I agree with kno4te kno4te hoplo cats are a good option, I would look for fully grown ones though.

I’m gonna try to get a feeding video of them soon. Also I don’t know if I’ll be able to get any catfish anyways as there’s rarely any food that touches the bottom and when it does the exos even grab it from the bottom lol. Even the 3 tiger barbs and other type of tetra i have in the tank barely get any food and are usually freaked out from the exodons feeding frenzy?

But maybe the fish are? Also imagine how stunning this all could look with some decent substrate, hardscape and plants. Dosn't have to be fancy, some simple stuff will add so much more to it. Fish will benfit for sure and it is not much more work either.

I always had pretty good luck mixing exodons with other fish as long as they weren't silver and flashy (i.e. silver dollars). I never had any problems from an aggression standpoint with Corydoras and Brochis, but they did have a hard time getting food (had to target feed them). Loaches were a better mix as they were able to get to the food more easily. I also always had a more natural aquascaping which did provide some visual barriers and hiding places. I do miss those feeding frenzy's!!
