Hello Everyone,

I need help with figuring out the best possible set up for my 75 Gallon aquarium. As of right now the plan is to stock it with two Common Wolf Fish (Hoplias Malabaricus). My concern is what type of filtration I should set up I want to run a dual system (I think) I will definitely be running two sponge filters in the aquarium. Open to as many suggestions as I can get. I do have a budget on this but want to set up the best thing I can. Also contemplating a UV sterilizer to help on the over all maintenance. Thank you and I look forward to what everyone has to say.

Now that I have looked up that Fluval FX6 wouldn't that be a bit extreme since this is going to be for a 75 gallon aquarium and the FX6 is for a 400 gallon aquarium

I would just add some HOB filter. Or just go 4 sponge filters and a powerhead for some added movement.

Hate canister filters. They're crap.

Canister are indeed allot to maintain , BUT provide versatility (trays for what ever media you wont) over a HOB. HOB is great for additional filtration but not as versatile as a Canister or sump. The FX6 holds a ton more media than the HOB or sponge.. I have had nothing but good things to say about the FX series filters.

Thank you, most reviews I have read on canister filters are not very good and that led me to creating this thread.
