Ah I was setting up a 75 gallon tank with a pleco, 2 four lined pimodellas, a needle nose "gar", and 2 firemouth cichlids, with a sand bottom and I was wondering what filtration system you guys would recommend and the price of the filter? PLEASE POST IT UP!!!

If that's all you're going to have, I'd say a Fluval 405 will do. I have a Fluval 404 and 405 on mine.

What about a Emperor 400 Power Filter because thats a little cheaper. Or a Clear 110 Power Filter (Old 500) that is also a little cheaper?

IMO Rule of thumb is if you're using HOB turnover rate is 10x and canisters 4x's.
I'm running a fx5 & 405 on my 72g bow front.
Same with my 10g tank, using a AC50.

I have a 75 gallon cichlid tank and I use a 30-60 HOB along with a Rena XP3. I added bioballs and ceramic disks to the XP3. Things seem to work fine.

xp3. and a ac110.... add a stealth heater 250w.... if you use a bigger heater than needed it doesnt have to work as hard... or 2 heaters incase one fails...
