75 gallon question

A 75gal is the bare minimum for a single adult Oscar. A 5ft tank would be a better choice, but if you have your heart set on an O, then just do a single O by itself in the 75.

+1 on that ehh

the oscar well more than fill out the tank,

I agree with the others. Additionally, some may disagree with me, but I believe a 75 is borderline too small for a school of silver dollars. They are quite active fish that get spooked easily and need room to swim. I had a school of spotted SD in a 4'x2'x2' 120 gallon and they would still run into the glass from time to time when people would move quickly in front of the tank.

I agree with you. I kept a school of 6 of them in a 4' tank and it wasn't enough for them. They were always banging into the glass.
But a 75 is better than a 30 gallon.

I am under the opinion that SD need a tall tank, a 95 instead of a 75. per say

I don't think silver dollars are comfortable in groups of less than ten.I had a group of 15 once in a 220 gallon. They are one of the most energetically charged active fish I have kept. All this plus a relatively large adult size,I think they look and are at their best in tanks 6 foot and over.
I also think adult oscars look cramped in a 75.
To me the convict is the only fish from the list suitable for a 75.

JD do fine, I am just not a fan of shallow tanks. 75, 125. folks will not agree with me, and thats fine. I prefer a 95g to a 75g, A 145 to a 125.
