So I started a stand build for my new 75 gallon to tank today. I got all of the framing done and got my shelve in. I used 2x4 for everything in that past so I used them on this also. The blue electrical boxes is for 3 switches. I will have a switch to turn on the white lights and then a switch to turn on my moon lights. On the other side of the stand I will have a switch to turn the power filters off when I do water changes. The stand looks really wide in the pictures, the reason I it does is that i added a extra 5 1/4 to the width of the stand due to the power filters hanging off the top of the tank so I don't have a gap between the wall and the stand. More pictures should be posted wither tomorrow night or Saturday sometime. Let me know what you think.

yeah its sturdy u can park a mack truck on it and it wont move a inch. from looking at other diy stand builds i am supprised that that stands held up. I saw a 125 gall stand built that had a top and bottom frame with 2x4s and the 4 corners had 2 2x4s nailed together and one 2x4 for a center support and i was supprised that it held up. I guess my biggest thing is that if u are going to build something right then do it the first time. If your not sure if its going to hold then double it up.lol

Well I got the rest of the stuff I need to complete the stand and canopy but i did not have enough time in the day to finish it. Everything is about 3/4 of the way done I till need to trim out the doors and mount them. I have pudding and standing to do and also finish the inside of the stand. I still have to cut out the back of the canopy to the power filter to fit. After that all I need to do it put put 3 coats of poly on everything and mount some hardware, some wiring.

Looks good so far. Love the switch idea very nice.

I love this. Its not just a stand it makes the whole setup more convenient. I don't think I could bring myself to do any wiring as I like my house non burnt. Nice work!
