the owner lady of my LFS breeds oddballs including ropefish. she sinking pellet trains them since babies. i'd get some but i can't with my stocking

You can do the Ropefish with the Smaller Upper Jaw species such as Captive bred Senegalus, Delhezi are a couple. Only issue with some Polypterus don't respond to food as fast as a Cichlid for example.

I was going to say the same thing. In fact I've not heard of ropefish getting past fry stage from a person trying to breed them yet. Would really appreciate more info and maybe a contact? You could pm me so it's not out everywhere cichlid tank cichlid tank .

There are some dwarf spiny eels not easy to find an I believe they stay under 12".
Here are a few, quite rare though

Mastacembelus sp. „Nargis“

What about some other fish besides some African oddballs? Just want to have a couple options to work with, what have you guys kept in 75 gallons that you don’t see everyday

I have a kamfa flowerhorn. Individual kamfas do look unique as well. I choose one with a lots of pearls and didn't concern much about other traits.
