Yeah, I was referring to the heckelli. Those are some beautiful ones. Good to know though, 10 inches is definitely pushing it. I always though they were closer to tapajos in size. For the fish:’s sake it’s just obviously bad, and even from an aesthetic perspective I’ve never been a fan of large fish in a small tank. Like one stock I see a lot of is full grown severum in a 4 foot tank and it just completely dwarfs the tank. I suppose it suitable but it’s not too appealing to me personally and I can’t imagine you’re gonna get a lot of natural behavior out of the fish. But that’s just me.
Are heckelli able to be kept in groups under any circumstances? I’ve mostly read horror stories.
Those are nice centrals, love that sajica. I haven’t even seen or heard of most of them tho. The local stores definitely don’t carry them. I’ve generally only seen convicts, firemouth dempseys, rainbows, vieja (rare) and savs. Seems like most centrals are generally. More aggressive too. Risky in a small tank.
