I am having a hard time deciding on what to do with my 75 gallon.
Fx4 canister filter.
Would 2 blood parrots and 2 Electric Blue Acara be okay in that space? And would they get along?? Does gender matter?
I don't want to commit and end up having to relocate fish or have dead fish. Any help at all is much appreciated!!
thank you in advance.

If you end up with 2 breeding pairs, they will probably clash. Which may still be OK if they pick sites on opposite sides of the tank, but could get messy if they are in each other's territory. And unless you are going for pairs, 2 is usually a bad number for cichlids because the dominant one will pick on the subdominant.

A better idea may be to get a male blood parrot, male acara, and add another male of a similarly mild species, rainbow cichlid multispinosa would probably be a good choice. Then some non-cichlid dithers like large tetras or livebearers, maybe a bottom feeder like a pictus cat.

Colony of cryptoheros/thorichthys/amatitlania with a bunch of swordtails or mollies

I have been told a 75 is too small for adult severum. I would like to have more than one fish.. but open to ideas.
really? I've been told 75 gal is the minimum tank size for one based on the footprint. After that, the bioload could take a few more fish. I remember reading posts on here about 75-gallon severum community tanks. I currently have a severum in my 75.

That's awesome! What do you have with your severum? I do like the looks of them.

They are quite peaceful IME. Over the course of the 1.5 years I've had my green sev I've had -
Neon tetras - rehomed from one of my other tanks that needed to be taken apart - He was okay with them when he was small but then ate them all once he got bigger
Angels - I had adult WC Rio Nanay Angels (look similar to altums but don't get as big). They were perfectly fine just some slight chasing nothing bad. Worked well until the angels died from some bacterial infection. I have also had small baby angels with them and its fine.
pearl gouramis - worked well
GBR - Worked well except mine hated my gold ram but was okay with the blues.
Seen them with discus
Heard the also work well with semi aggressive cichlid. Due to their size they can hold their own.

IME they are very peaceful but can be mean when needed. But they poop a lot. I do weekly 75% WC but you will always see large chunks of his poop, then again I have light colored sand.
