Geos are social and need groups of at least four. With the smallest geos reaching no less than 6" on average (females can be a bit smaller), a 75 would not make a good long term home for a group of geos. The gymno species would do well in there though.
Hello,
I'm going to have a free 75 gallon soon and am looking for ideas on stock. I either want a pair of large cichlids or a school of some sort. (NOT angels or discus)
Any ideas?
Going off your screen name - do you keep natives? If so, you have some experience with cooler water fish & with your interest in geos & your tank size, you should definitely look into gymnogeos. I've been interested in them for a while now, but never kept any. They require a cool down period to thrive and that wouldn't work with my stock. Lots of good color & unique body shapes with the gymnos.
