Just go to Petsmart and get a "red devil"

Sure he tires to bite and makes water changes a pain in the ass but I love him.

What does everyone think about a Hericths bocourti? I really like the body shape and color. Any idea if they are personable?

They are and most that get 10"+ in a tank by themselves will be personable. My Chocolate is very personable and before I moved here I had one in a 75 by himself:

C. cutteri. I used to have a pair that I recently sold and they had tons of personality but dang are they jagoffs to other fish (specifically my catfish which doesn't fly for me :)) but if they're the only fish they'll do great. A friend of mine has a pair in a 180 and they've got to be the biggest ones I've seen, female is 8" and male is 10" and they rule that tank by themselves.

Ive had bocourti and I currently have a pearsei. They are very similar in temperament but it seemed my bocourti was a bit more aggressive toward tankmates and did not get along at all with the pearsei. In the end the pearsei had the better personality so I kept her. Even thought these fish may fit in the tank lengthwise these are both very large bodied fish and may push the limits of a 75g as to stocking.

Not quite as big as you want but paratilapia polleni are vert personable, look great and don't get massive humps.
