i set up my 75 and am in the process of getting live rock as i can afford it....75 pounds is too much to buy at once.......i just wanted to get some ideas for fish....i will have the live rock and probably add some of the easier corals down the road

Do not buy damels for your first fish. They are a fish that u add at the end if at all. start of buying fish that you like that are relatively cheap. You want to have the fish that you want in your tank you do not want to buy cheap ones just because there cheap they will turn ugly.

get chromis instead of damsels.
they are more peaceful and schooling.

they aren't my favorite looking though......what else could i have in a 75?.....i was thinking about an eel

if your doing an eel you may not be able to have coral because they may eat it as a sorce of food. i know it has been done be4 but i have never seen it. i like the firefish. they have color and you can have more then one. another fish you could add at the end would be a royal gramma. they are growing in popularity but tend to be a bit aggresive! a yellow tang would be another good candidate but i would let your tank settle out first. like 5 months in. also be sure you have a good source of hair algae for them and offer freeze dried seaweed.

for a 75 you could definately do an eel (snowflake, zebra, chain, etc) you could do dwarf lions, butterflies, most angels, dwarf angels, hawkfish, squirrel fish, wrasses, gobies, blennies, clowns, jawfish, grammas, some anthias, chromis, damsels, darters, and such, there's a pretty big list to go off of.

This is if you dont want coral, a lot of the fish mentioned are not reef safe.

You want to do:
Tangs
clownfish
dottybacks
pseudchromis
mandarins
blennies
gobies
some dwarf angels(some arent reef safe)
some wrasses(some arent reef safe)
If you do it this way you can add longpine urchins and a lot of different shrim and crabs.

actually other than the butterflys and angels they are all coral safe, it's just the inverts you have to worry about.

i didn't, however, read the bit about coral in the first post.

more urchins aren't coral safe than fish.
