They will Fit, don't get me wrong. But they like their "space" to swim and graze. Tangs are prone to Ich when jammed in and stressed. Over at ReefCentral & SaltwaterFish.com we call those guys that go up in arms about tangs in a 75g the Tang Police.

I had mine in a 75g for a month in Quarantine and he did fine. But at 6" he made a 75g look full. At 9" (max size) he would have been cramped. Again, I think personally it could be done but would limit other fish options.

and i agree

I agree that yellow tangs can get big and aggressive. I'm new to SW but unfortunately have experience with this.:irked: Our 90g fowlr tank is set up SOULY because the big yellow tang we bought was so aggressive.
We were told they won't be aggressive to fish that don't look anything like them, and as newbies didn't know any better. WRONG, it is possible.

There wasn't even anything in our 75g besides a couple of smaller fish (2 little gobies and one clownfish) and when we tried to add a few more clownfish that we bought from someone he attacked them. Not only did he attack the new clownfish, but once he was pissed off he started attacking EVERYONE in the tank, even the current residents.

I also agree that they make the tank look small. He was in a 90g at the LFS and looked fine, but in the 75g he just completely overpowered the tank because of his bright color and size. He's not even necessarily full sized yet.

Agree with everything that has been said.
Exept that eels eat corals. I will say that def doesnt happen too. You will just have to get a smaller species if you want one.
