I have a similar set ups as to what your asking about.
Only I have different dithers & cichlids.
Tiger barbs & giant danios have always worked fine as dithers for me.
Silver dollars get pretty big for a 75 gal.
Bichirs would be fine also. I keep senegals & delhezi w/ ca cichlids, no problems.
Cats & bichirs are hit & mis, it may work it may not.
