first very nice tank thanks for posting

secondly I have a mbu and have been wondering where to put him, has your mbu ever eaten another tank mate and does he defend himself if they try to mess with him?

come on knh - everyones asked 1000 times ... i know there is a window there, right? go outside and take a full tank shot looking into the room

FYI, the pics of the niger doesn't do it any justice. It looks like my 24"er in these pictures. But i guess thats what a huge tank will do... you need to put something in the pictures for size reference. Maybe a small car next to the niger so we can see it would easly crush it :naughty:

What are the lengths on the IDs and AGG ?

Has the GG gotten really pink, or is it just how the picture turned out? It looks like it's finally starting to get that "ugly" face
The ids are 6-7" and 10" and the gg is also around 10". The color is fairly accurate but I did use the flash so it might have distorted it alittle.
What do you mean by "ugly"? You don't think bumps and red veins are cute:)

He has biten (and killed) some smaller cichlids as well as bitten my FF and niger in the past. He seems to have adjusted to tankmates now and hasn't bothered anyone in awhile. I used to have many mbuna in with him and they attacked his tail. He seemed quite helpless and I was forced to get rid of the mbuna. He does best with less aggressive fish such as the barbs.

for me its not a real GG unless it looks like it was involved in a serious automobile accident with a semi :)

I think it looks great

Nice tank and fish. I think the GG is like the "pug" of the fish world. You either love them, or hate them. I have not quite grown an affinity for them...yet:headshake
