wow didnt know gts are that expensive

i can get em here for 2$ or less

More than likely Gold Saums. I thought the same thing when I got my GT. It's not necessarily a true GT Rivulatus, but it's a subspecies.

Keep us updated!

Diffently will. Right now just trying to get an idea on what im going to spend to get a GT. i diffently want one. I still have a few more weeks before the tank done cycling. :) but as soon as i get on i'll take pics and post them :D

i've seen fish town USA in NY with very nice gt that i have never seen before, their tail fins are purple. maybe over 2" and fat, $5 each.

you could try a pair in there, though one would be just fine

this plus you could get some dithers. if the tank is really a hundred gallon then you might get away with a male and female with some dithers.

go for the pair since u have the space. since their so expensive in ure area u could probably make good money if they spawn

I picked up a 7" male green terror friday... however i also ended up with 3 more fish over theweekend that i didnt want. my roomie got a tank for salt setup, when he got there and drained the tank holy crap 3 fish was in this nasty dark brown water... 2 blood parrots about 6 inch and a silver dollar, the silver dollar has a bad case of fin rot while the 2 blood parrots seem to be heathy other then the white poo. for now i have them in with the gt. he doesnt bother the silver dollar but as for the 2 bp... he chases them all over the tank...looks like im going to need another tank....lol

Got to have a good cover.

I had a beautiful 9 inch GT that jumped out of a small crack in the back of my tank that was only the width of the Hang on Back (HOB) filter, probably not as wide as the fish. The first time I found him on the floor in time to put him back in. I figured this was a freak of nature and could not happen again. Second time I came home from work and he was dead.

Now I use plexi glass from Home Depot. I etch and cut it around the HOB filters. I also build my own wooden hoods from plans I found in the DIY forum on this site. I do leave a section of the plexi glass out of the front & center since I have coverage with the wooden hood.
