Bump!
Please I need to know soon, I might get the 55 or 75 gallon tank tomorrow! Need time to cycle.

Also, what are some good tank mates with columbian sharks? Not big ones though, no scats, no monos, no puffers.
Thanks!

Bump!
The instructions for setting up a brackish tank says to buy the fish YOUNG.
Is it bad for my 2 year old Columbian shark that I'm changing his water to brackish so late?

CSC,

Calm down, your gonna get your thread shut down. Personally i think this question is asked and answered. Whether your fish is 6 months old or two years old, the body design is the same, and your fish will adjust fine to salt by slow acclimation at the .002 sg per week.

Ok Thanks so much

your cats will eat most small brackish fish cause they can grow 14" long so you might be better of going with some other larger species

I'm not going to take chances, I'm just going to get 2 more sharks :D

just make sure the new sharks are close to the same size cause catfish can eat fish bigger than most people think

uhhhh, I have a 6-7 inch columbian shark with another shark about 1.5-2 inches.

Columbian sharks can and will eat up to 87% of their body mass. I'm pretty sure the baby is capable of being eaten, and they've been in the same tank for months.

I'm pretty sure that schooling fish don't eat smaller versions of themselves.

Also, when my biggest CSC was about 3-4 inches, I decided to get some angelfish, a little over a inch in just the body. Next day, the CSC is swimming around with them in his mouth.
