I had JUST a penguin 350 on a 75G with 5 reds in it for a few months, and I agree I'd add more filtration (They did fine though). Dr. Foster and Smith's has AC110's for $33.99, and they are the best HOB I've used. If you just add an AC110 I think you would be fine.. Add a canister if you want SUPER overkill and not just overkill.

i was going to buy the canister that was mentioned earlier in a post but does it come with everything it needs to be set up or will i need to order 6 other parts just to get it functioning

Well whatever you decide, atleast have 10 timess gph being filtered. That kinda confuses me... 75g x 10 = 750 gph

okay thats good cuz im gettin a good deal on a 75g tank at my local petland because they are having a pretty sweet fish sale since its there 41st year of having them so everything that has to do with fish is either 41 cents or 41% off until halloween an that sorta thing

ill have to do some research on filtration because all im really use to is HOB filters

hey man im not flaming at all. but we shouldn't support petland. i got my dog from their and he had some pretty serious conditions. and they sometimes dont know what theyre talking about, think of it as a new petco or something. anyhow great find on the tank! i just suggest you find a better suited place to buy your livestock and not incourage them

well i really do hate to help petland out because of the way everything is when it comes out of there but its got the biggest selection or fish anything in my town and the closest is about 1 hour away so i kinda have to and they are having a really good sale right now.

Most canisters come with the sponges you need, but not always the biological media. I would use your penguin and order an AC110 from Dr. Fosters and Smith. They are only $33.99, and are pretty awesome.
