Alright, my main focus is to just get rid of the actinic bulb.

I kind of want a medium light tank, where I can have some high and some low light plants. I like anubias and swords and some of the high light plants.

So if I got an exchange for the actinic and put the legs on the light ( I don't at the moment ) would I be ok without using co2? I would use the seachem excel though.

Yes. CO2 is not a requirement. Seachem is just an over priced version of all the other cheap ferts. Try the API Leafzone. Its about as cheap as it comes and works just as well.

BTW, until you kill Java Fern and Java Moss, your not bad at 'this plant stuff'.
