I am getting ready to stock my 75g tank. And figured I'd ask here about compatability before I do it. I am going for an all male hap/peacock tank.

Here is my stocking list so far-

Haps-
1 Sciaenochromis fryeri (Likoma Is.) (already have)
1 Super Red Empress
1 Taiwan Reef
1 Otopharynx Lithobates (zimbawe rock)

Peacocks-
1 Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi Ottor Point
1 Aulonocara Stuartgranti Flametail (Ngara)
1 Aulonocara sp. Caroline Swallowtail
1 Aulonocara Sp. OB Peacock (Hybrid)

Mbuna-
1 Yellow Lab (already have)
1 Acei (already have)
1 Iodotropheus Sprengerae Rusty

I am open to any suggestions or ideas.

Personally I would take out the Mbunas, but I believe (just from what I've heard) that the labs are fairly mellow and I'd imagine the Acei aren't overy aggressive either. The iodotropheus might be on the aggresive side though.

I think the haps and peacocks will get along though. All of them are gorgeous fish :D.

Thanks. I read somewhere that yellow labs, acei, and the iodotropheous are all fine with hap/peacocks, but I dont know.

If it were me, I would lose the mbuna...

Aulonocara sp. Caroline Swallowtail
Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi Ottor Point

if I remember right are they not very similar in look, could be problematic for best look if they are...

no i will lose all the mbuna but keep the yellow lab ...acei and rusty will not do well in the long term on most case ...and if you want to try please do them as a group ..most mbuna (yellow) do really well on the group

I suppose you are right. On the website that I am considering ordering fish from they look nothing alike, but after doing a google search they are fairly similar.

Thanks for the help so far everyone.

I also have a question regarding filtration. Can you have too much bio filtration?
Right now I am running an AC110 with mechanical/chemical/bio filtration as well as a Rena xp3 with mechanical/chemical/bio (20 bio-chem stars and 1L of Seachem Matrix.)

Would It better for me to remove the bio material from the Aquaclear and just use it as a mechanical filter?

nad just leave the bio material in there...to me the more bio the better.but then its all come down to whats stocking in that tank too..bigger and alot of fish = need alot of bio

1- Flametail (Ngara)
