75G stocking?

I have a 75 with a rd in it and I wouldn't imagine putting something in there. Not only because I know he will kill it but because he also fills out the tank.
As for the belly crawler... They get about the size of a hot dog, literally. Any 10inch fish can fit a hot dog in its mouth, if you catch my drift.

Take it from someone whose tried before multiple times, there is not a way. Amphs are known for being intolerant in small tanks. Red devils can clear out a 125 of fish it's own size. Now take away two feet of escape space

glad to have another catfish fanatic onboard. I DO NOT CARE what anybody tells you, catfish can be as personal as cichlids (depending on species and how you raise it). My Asian bumblebee comes out during lights on to handfeed for me and recognizes when I come up to the glass. Synos are even more likely to have diurnal behaviors and will even come up to the top to surface feed.

rd can live with other fish in a big enough tank, 180g+ and you have a good chance of finding some robust cichlids to live with it, trouble is they grow faster than pretty much any cichlid up to 6-7 inch become dominant and go on killing sprees... it will claim the entire tank in a 75 though... i have a 12 inch midevil/midas and 11 inch butti living together in a 300 with two oscars anothe midas female and a few catfish..
on that list lose the mayan, jag and rd and replace with something like a green terror, severum or blue acaras and you will have a really nice setup.

Just make hiding places for stuff like the cat and convicts. Or cover the bottom with huge chunks of rainbow rock like my wife did lol. Makes tons of big crevices a large RD would never catch fish in.
