Oscars, carpinte, loisellei, Cubans are all to big in that tank. Go with Severums, green terror, Jack Dempsey or something like that.

How so? Yes oscars can hit 16" so they are to big but loisellei, cubans and carpintis all rarely top 10". As a general rule you can spawn a pair of 12" in 75 gallon tank as long as the pair are properly bonded. As far as severums go you could spawn two pairs in 75 gallon tank without any issues.

I would put a single 12-16" fish in a 75g, but not a breeding pair, being a pair, the female will most likely need a divider, +there will be fry. Carpinte and Cubans, Loiselli, EASILY reach 12".

Well I have been keeping cichlids since 1988 and I have never seen a 12" specimen of any of those species. I have also owned all those species including wild specimens of loiselli and carpintis. Maybe they reach it in total length (TL) which includes the caudal fin in the measurement. But in actually length in which only the body is measured they will not reach 12"

Regardless, even if they reach 12" (which I have never known them to do) only males would reach such a size and only after a long time.

Either way they are easily spawned and maintained in such a tank.

No im not set on anything right now. I'm looking at all options it could be aggressive/peaceful and big/small. I was considering Geo's

I like the idea of JDs . . . 75G should be right in the sweet spot for a pair of JDs

Geophagus would also be an excellent choice . . .
