so far theres 4 4x4s, 4 2x4s, 2 4x8, 2 boxes of screws and 16 brackets sitting on the slab in the backyard



i really hope the material takes it upon itself to get started on this... :irked:



soon as it cools off a bit something should happen...

alright... a nap has been taken and the sun has given me some shade... now i really wish i had put some thought into design insted of just buying a bunch of wood... oh well.. lets see what happwns... i need to build a box.. how hard can this be
 
so far so good..

4x4s top and bottom are set
2x4s for the corners and bottom cross bracing are done

2x8s are on the (folding) table ready to be cut

so far only 1 wrong cut which has convinced me to just add more bracing rather than work in fractions

so far ive yet to sketch anything or even think about anything other than what im working on..... and im down to my last beer...

hmm.. at some point i should fill up my tank and see if it even holds water.. it looks good but who knows
 
If he keeps it going with the beer and unplanned cuts, we may get a pic of a severed thumb...

Document your chaos step by step.. I may need to imitate it to make a stand for my 38...
 
only one bad cut for the whole build.. however the screws i got do not fit through the holes in the brackets... however drywall screws do.. so at the moment theres 2 in every bracket and in the morning ill go get some longer ones and get it done right.. the original 3" screws im still using to do all the corners as well as the brackets..

im also going to pick up some plywood so i can get it closed up and the whatnot.. dont really need to for stability.. as it is now with maybe 30 screws holding it together i picked it up from one end to take it off the table i built it on...
i also need some foam cuz neither the floor or the stand are totaly even... though i must say the stand is really really close.. oww and paint.. cant forget paint.. and hunges for the doors.. and door handles... and... i should see what i can find for rubbermaid tubs.. the ones i have now get used for water changes and such

i also need to find a place to put this friggin thing.. i think i need to move a bookshelf full of books... honestly id like to move them to the dump cuz incase you havent figured out.. im not exactly the kinda guy that reads a whole lot...

all in all.. a lil under 4 hours of work and im 80% done.. tomorrow is suposed to be pretty nice.. so if theres a breeze ill get this thing finnished and maybe even into the house

dont make it hard on yourself.. its just a stand.. think of it as a box.. made of wood.. that you put stuff on

but yes.. ill take pics and answer any questions.. ill even be open to suggestions however theres a good chance i wont listed till its too late :screwy:

Stuff like 8.345 lbs per gallon? like 625lbs plus substrate and tank w/ accs.
