I running my 75gl S/A Tank off of a Sun Sun 3 Media tray Canister, also have one power head & air pump running, Currently have

10" Mid Evil
7" Red Tex
4" J/D
Two clowns
Two juvi R/D's
One Spotted Pleco

I preform weekly water changes but water is never pristem, Is the tank too over crowed, or do I need to replace my Canister with a better one? First tray has strictly pads, second tray has crushed lava rocks for G/B, third has Carbon & Ammonia mesh bags,

Water is clear but slightly cloudy, Mabey I'm being over barring but would like for the water to be crystal, Any advice is appreciated,

I would not replace the sun sun. If I were you, I'd get a second canister and run TWO canisters. See if that helps things. Looks like the SS3 you have is for "tanks up to 75 gallons". I'd say it's undersized for the stock you have in the tank.

The tank is kinda heavily stocked, there's lots of food going in the tank, big fish. You need more water flow/filtration to accommodate that.

A bigger tank is also a good idea. Or fewer fish.

Since you asked about the stocking....it is. Im not the stocking police its your tank man lol. Those fish most likely wont play nice for too long ontop of the high bio load. Do yiu test for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate ? I have a 75 with a small heterospilus , spotted raph and two small endlicheri (until they are large enough to go into another tank ) and i do 2 wc per week

How long has the tank been set up for? What kind of carbon/ammonium mesh bags are you using? Try Chemi Pure Elite/Blue.

I would suggest picking which fish in that tank you couldn't do without or consider a bigger tank.

As for water quality. I have one of the sunsun's on my 30 gallon and I can't see it being enough turnover for a 75 gallon at all. It is rated at 264 gallon per hour but I think they measure those without media and at zero head. This means that if your filter is below the tank and has media in it (were all assuming it does) then you are getting considerably less turnover than that. I would add either a second canister or an aquaclear 110 for starts.

A decent rule of thumb for determining how many gallons per hour you should filter is aiming to turn over all of the water in your tank 5-10 times per hour. I am of the opinion that the manufacturers fudge the turnover rate on the filters to make them seem like they are more powerful so I shoot for 10 times per hour on the turnover. I have a 55 gallon with two aquaclear 110's on it and the current is mild and not crazy at all. The water stays crystal clear.

Get yourself a nice liquid aquarium test kit if you do not have one. You should see what the nitrates are in your tank and because you have crushed coral substrate maybe check the ph. The ph probably isn't messing up your water clarity at all but it might be a tad high for central/south american fish although some of the central american fish come from higher ph bodies of water so you might be just fine.
