How did you fit a 3ft wide tank in your front door lol or is it in your garage ?

That tank looks great!
That is a huge difference in size from the Dart and the Hammerhead. Wow! I considered switching to the Hammerhead when/if my Dart ever goes out, but I think i'll just stick with the Dart class of pumps.

very very nice set up

Thanks.

The little pool room (18'x10') it's in has a standard front door (I think 30") which the tank would not fit through, but on the opposite side it has dual doors, so I had a 47" opening to go through. You can see a pic of the room on post #114: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?433117-770-Gallon-Monster-Setup/page12

That really looks good!

Thanks for the kind words. How's the Goonch?

Dude that is awesome! Few people would dream of having a tank that big! How much did it cost?

Yes, I know, I am nuts. I love watching people's jaws hit the floor when they first see it. PM sent in regards to cost.

Hey Fred, yeah, I was shocked at how much smaller the Dart was and really impressed with how quiet it is. If you want more flow, I would just run 2 darts instead of getting a Hammerhead. The Hammerhead is a total brute and pushes a ton of water, but from my experience (having heard 2 Hammerhead Golds) it would be annoyingly loud in a living space. It may be unfair of me to say that, since it seems as though both of my pumps had isses (perhaps they ran loud because the shaft had been bent or the bearings were bad).

I am glad you found the Dart to be much quieter. I figured it would be but had nothing to compare it to. I am not sure if you have seen my tank since I built a false wall around it, but you can't here a peep from the Dart, air pump, or overflows. A totally quiet systems. AWESOME!

Nice tank! I have liked and disliked goldfish over the years, most of the time I don't have one at the house but it's more because I feel they need more space than what I have to give them. You said earlier you had fry or something little swimming around, what were they?

I visit your thread everytime I log in....looking very good. Looking forward to seeing it all painted.

Now that I have a quiet running pump, you can hear the water from the overflows a lot more. I need to play with the overflows and enclose the stand to make it nice and quiet like yours.

Thanks. Goldfish weren't my first choice, but they are ok...at least for now. A few baby goldfish appeared in the tank a few months ago (they have all since disappeared) and I still have some sort of insect...I think they are knats. They look like mosquitos, but I've never been bitten by anything, so I doubt they are mosquitos. The larvae (some red, some white- wormlike creatures) hang out in the gravel and eventually come to the surface where most of them get sucked into the overflows before they can fly off, but the few that make it out typically end up on the electric grate of my electric fly swatter. They have the same life cycle as mosquitos. I think they came in on the driftwood, but I don't know.
