i say better a bit warmer than cold...
there was one weekend when i came back and ALL the water in my tanks were a balmy 86+++ it seemed. it really felt like warm bath water. i was scared but the fish were all alive and health. i did an emergency 25% water change on all tanks and brough down the temperature to the 70's again.
