  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
love the progress

mr.reef24

Thanks. Slowly getting there.

Lookn good bob!
I hope you have it where you want i to stay.
I need a bigger garage.

Thanks gangster.
As soon as the walls are done being stacked I am moving the tank to the other side of the garage. That is probably the easiest part. Moving over a dozen rays and the stock tanks is the hardest part lol.
Hehehe the wife was lucky I didnt have more room. Wait till I have a basement. That will be a build to follow in the future.

I think I have tank envy....

:D

Sure it will move. Won't be to much longer till I get to that point. Maybe this weekend. I still have 6 hours of work on the walls. Then have to move all the fish around.

That's exactly why I think it makes sense to just use the existing walls and floors as part of the tank.. save big time on materials.

Makes perfectly good sense if I had a basement with concrete walls. What you don't know is that this is in the garage of a townhouse. I still wouldn't use a wood framed house wall to do this kind of build do to the fact that outside wall is going to flex. Fiberglass is only going to give so much before it cracks and puts over 1000 gallons of water on your floor. If your using pond liner by all means go for it. If it was your build by all means give it a try. I am not risking my rays or fish simply because I want to save a couple of dollars. Plus when I move the tank goes with me.

Yeah, I meant doing this in a basement if you have descent walls and floors that can support the depth that you're hoping to get. I have done this and it works great.

Nice build so far... but if you think that you'll be able to move that thing I think you're kidding yourself. Are you planning on cutting it up if/when you need to move? Or keeping it in the garage I guess.

So I did a temporary stack of the last 8 rows to figure out locations for some things. This actually put a smile on my face. Can't wait till I am done.
