I do not think your PH is an issue, and messing with it is a bad ideal, PH only a concern with dark/black water fish, like WC altum angels.

I too would not worry about it unless it's a very specific breeding project you're after. Let the fish adapt to the pH of your source water.
neutral PH is 7.6, scale is 0 to 14, again you have nothing to worry about and if I was you like me ignore it, Nitrates are what you need to worry about with your SA fish.
as for spawning, yes a cool water change can trigger spawning or so it seems or suggests as to the fish it may, (again no hard facts on this) trigger monsoon season for the fish when the water is higher a bit cool and more nutrients,
personally, getting JD, Jags, and Oscars to spawn it was a rock of love and a space open.
for some reason they all loved this rock of love, go figure, fish.
