thinbar dat!!!!:irked::irked::irked::irked:!
and i just fed this guy yesterday!

i was just in my room for about an hour then when i returned to feed them tonight, i noticed that one of my armatus' belly is bulging! then im like "what the heck??" i quickly scanned the tank and found out that my first ever dat is missing!:WHOA: this guy is my most stable and have been in the tank with 3 16" black arows and a 9" Tigrinus for months now and nobody even attempted to make a "dinner" out of it!

ill post pix when i find the cable for the camera tomorrow.
LESSON LEARNED! ARMATUS HAVE HUGE MOUTHS!!!!:(

So sorry for your loss! Why did you decide to keep you small Dat with the Armatus?

Ive had this set up since I got the armatus a few months ago and they were only from 2-3inches. i didnt really think the armatus is going to do this. they are all well-fed. well, i was wrong.

all of my dats now range from 4-4.5" so do you guys think i should move the dats to a different tank? all of my 3 armatus will definitely outgrow the datnoids.:(

hybrid,

i saw a thread of an 8" armatus eating a 3" tinfoil. but the guy intentionally fed the tinfoil. i have tinfoils too but have been with the armatus since day one. you think i should move these guys to another tank with the other datnoids??

The tinfoil was an accident:grinno: but I would move them or put in a tank divider. just in case, you don't want to lose any more dats

The closest my payara have come to an expensive feeder was when I had my first red tail tat and it took down an apollo shark within minutes of being placed in the tank.Sorry about your dat.
