8'' black ghost vs 4'' eel

You could probably get both. I've never really considered BGKs to have very big mouths, but then again, I've never seen one bigger than four inches...

The mouth of a 11" BGK is fairly big to me , most of the time they don't open all the way - but when they do it opens , so I would think an 8" would have a mouth big enough the fire eel . Personally I never seen any aggression from mine .

Well, I ended up getting the 4' eel and a 4'' bgk. They seem to get along, chose their own caves and swim close to each in the branches.
