Nice! I was kind of afraid of it because I have no idea how the plumbing would work, but it was a great deal. You should keep a thread on here about the setup, I'm curious to see how it works. Never saw a tank with so many holes drilled before.

edit: I see that you have, actually. Nice. From your pics it looks like the stand is in better shape than I expected from the CL ad. Now I'm even madder that you beat me to it. That stand would match the new place perfectly and save me a lot of work.

Bump.

So far Carlos's 415 is the best but also kind of a lot of money. Have located a 96x24 that's 3 feet high for a good price, but I'm actually a bit concerned about maintenance at that height. I'd actually prefer 96x24x24 to 36" high I think. Will probably go check these all out in one trip this week or next weekend, but just wondering if anything else is out there. Thanks to all who have replied so far.

If you're looking for a cheap 240 I have one... But you'd have to be able to live with 3 black stripes down the front of it (used to be a divided tank).

I'd gladly meet you halfway for $350.

If you've never messed witha 30 inch tall tank before I'd strongly urge you to before buying one. I have a 30 inch tall 300 and honestly..... IF I knew then what I know now I would have never bought it.

Not willing to live with stripes - this baby will be in the living room.

But I know what you mean. My 110 is 26" and acrylic and that's so much harder to clean than the shorter glass tanks I have. I have to get up on a chair and reach the entire length of my arm and still have a hard time getting the algae at the bottom, because for some reason algae seems to stick to acrylic a lot more than to glass. I can't get enough force from the long handled scrubber to get rid of that, although if it was stronger than just plastic that might not apply. Still, I can't imagine trying to clean up the bottom of the acrylic at 36".

Then again, if that's the best deal, I'll still buy it and just live with it. A 96x36" viewing area has a lot of potential, provided I can find some nice top dwelling fish.

(But 96x32 footprint means I can get a pair of rays... that's certainly appealing)

algae magnet so you dont have to reach. only used those in smaller tanks so i dont know how useful it will be in a large one like that, but a thought.

If you wanna spend some money on a show quality tank I also have a 8 by 2.5 by 2 black backed Tenecor, with twin trapezoidal overflows that's set up to successfully flow almost 5K gph...... VERY good condition, but not cheap.

Thanks man. I saw that one but I can get the same dimensions much cheaper without having to pay for the stand and canopy. That setup would work for my 6 footer but for this one it's gotta be furniture quality. Better to let someone else that'd use the full setup scoop that one up.

Figures though. It has been weeks since any big tanks were for sale and now two are posted but neither will work. I think I'm going to check out two or three tomorrow though, unless I'm too hung over.

How is yours coming along?
