Ok, do you use any special mech media such as floss for this tank?

No i dont like using floss in canisters....just clogs up too fast

I might need to cut the sponge down, it is either floss or peat right now i cant fit it all in well

We used to sell peat moss slabs that fit the big AC hang on, wish I could remember the manufacturer. They were like an 1 1/2" thick and they would sandwich between the sponge and bio media.

Added some sand ....personally i like the look of diff substrates especially when plants mature
