I've research tons of stands and tanks and modified them to fit my footprint. Please take a look and see what you think. I welcome constructive criticism and any pointers.

Thanks for your time in advance

This view of the picture doesnt show it, but there will be 2x6's sandwhiching the 4x4's between the horizontal 2x4's. Like all the ones I have seen on here and YouTube, so the weight is really being held by the 2x6's and not the screws in the 2x4's

I voted maybe for the following reasons:

- I don't like the 36" span on the 425 gallon section.
- I don't like the 2x4 support beams at all. If you're going to double them up might as well just use 4x4s. But I like the 2x8s personally.
- Also not a fan of the 2x4 base frame. I assume you mean the vertical supports are 2x4s?
- I Don't like that everything looks like it's supported by screws. The 2x6s that are sandwiching the 4x4s are all still screwed into the 4x4s so the tank will sit on screws basically.
- Check out my 2700 PDF on the stand section. This stand was over built to withstand that kind of weight without question. Nothing is being held up by screws. Only solid wood supports the weight.

Thank you, I didnt explain that very well. What I meant by 2x4 base frame, was all of the horizontal pieces are 2x4. The 2x6 are placed vertically on each side of the 4x4 between the 2x4's that are running horizontally on their sides (not flat like you did VLDesign). The 2x4's and 2x6's are only screwed together to hold them in place, all of the weight is supported the 4x4's and the 2x4's thru the 2x6 sitting on top or another horizontal 2x4.

Ahh.. Ok yeah I was gong to ask for a side view too. Good that helps out a lot. Glad to see there is solid wood as the support and not screws.

I still would be concerned with the 3' span, but maybe that's because I worry too much. lol

Oh, and I like the overall corner type design. Should be pretty nice when completed.

Thanx for the advice, i'll change the 36" spans to 2x6's. I'll also have some horizontal supports on top of the plywood (inside the tank). I'll be sure to take lots of photos as I go.

Thanx, i think its going to look awesome in the corner of my master bedroom. And in the same corner i have a 40" flat screen on a pull out arm. So I'll be able to watch tv and the fish at night.

i'll do a rough sketch of the front later.

thanx again

I'm just impressed that the two of you know what you are saying and can communicate it. Personally, I have no skill in wood work, but I think you obviously do and I hope you build it and post a pic. Nothing accents a tank better than an excellent stand.

Thanx. I will def post build pics.
