angel fish is a cichlid...

In any case, a boxy sort of tank is not really good for fish that hold territory. I suggest some small-medium schooling fish and a couple of small bichirs.

Just don't put birchirs with delacate fish like angelfish...

Hmm whats a good community stock of small cichlids? Ive had convicts dont really want them. I like the angel fish idea but dont have experience keeping them and i like more robust fish. I like bichirs... I like salvinis. Maybe a pair of salvinis as a centerpiece and then a few other smaller fish as a community? I really like pikes also but i havent received any suggestions for dwarf species in the pike section yet. Hmm schooling fish seem appealing as well.

As far as small cichlids go, besides what oscaroo said, you could do rams and kribensis
