Started on the rock wall panels to cover the overflow boxes. Bought 160lbs of xxl lava rock and used about 120lbs on these panels, lol. Thought that would have been enough for everything, but not quite. Prolly order another 160lbs. Basically covered a 3ft x 2ft sheet of foam panel with trash bags, laid the rock out how I wanted it, then removed each piece, spray foamed under it, move to the next, then fill in gaps. After it dries, cut the big pieces off, then dremel and wire brush you contours and edges. Will paint it with a tinted/watered down hydraulic cement. When it goes in the tank, I'll remove the trash bags and silicone the panels on the over flow boxes. Before filli8ng the tank, I'll super glue all the java fern I've been growing out to each panel to create a wall of java fern.
Grow out tub/pond is doing great. Plants are growing good and converting over to submerged growth from immersed. Picked up a set of 100 watt novostella 6500k wifi flood lights. Probably gonna run 4 of these as the main lighting on the tank honestly. Got a par meter coming in to measure penetration at substrate level. Hoping to get 30-50par at 30" deep. Fingers crossed. They are bright as hell. You can see them from the window from over a 1/4 mile away at night when driving up to the house, lol. Malaysian trumpet snails have also started reproducing. They are doing a great job on algae so far.
Both tanks are growing out pretty good. Did some cleaning up and bought some ludwigia. Prolly gonna advoid putting the java moss and hornwort in the big tank. The stuff is just unruly when grown under a decent light with ferts. Can't keep it manageable because of how fast it grows. Currently burning thru a quart of macro nutrients, micro nutrients, and glutaraldehyde each week with dosing everything. Have some tiger lily and african bolbitus coming in soon to start growing out.
Hopefully have the 360 up and running by March.
