that will bea sweet tank mate. i have a acrylic 8x4x2 and i think its massive never mind another 2ft on top of that!!

8X4X4 is an awesome tank. It will just be the cleaning part that can be a problem. I have a friend who have a 3' height tanks and have to sell it due to the hassle of cleaning a deep tank. You might have to go inside the tank to really clean it. hope you are not planning to put substrate bec that can add to the difficulty. You might have to fabricate a submersible pump with attachment like a vacumm cleaner to get to the bottom w/o swimming inside. But with that tank, you can have a combination of Top Dwellers (Aros) Mid Tand Dwellers, and Bottom Dwellers (Birchirs) without any problem at all. Please post some pics once it is set up.

I assume you mean asian arow's? You could probably fit six in a tank like that, IME when you put that many arows in a tank aggression will go down, but consider this, it could be possible that two might pair off if there are males and females mixed in. This will be a good thing ,but it would be advisable to get the others out if that happens. Anyway goodluck with your tank! Make sure the filter is big enough.

How about instead of 8x4x4, make it an 8x5x3. The width should help a lot ...
